Events taking place around the area to mark National Day of Truth and Reconciliation

Events around the region are taking place to mark the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation.
Orange flags with Every Child Matters printed on them will be flown at municipal buildings in Stratford and St.Marys Thursday.
Stratford Mayor Dan Mathieson will lay an orange shirt on the steps of city hall as a symbolic gesture to recognize and honour the children, families and communities impacted by residential schools in Canada.
Residents are also being invited to lay an orange shirt or a pair of children’s shoes on the steps at city hall.
There will also be a moment of silence at 2:15 p.m. in Stratford to coincide with the first discovery of 215 unmarked graves at the site of a former residential school in Kamloops, B.C. in May.
In St.Marys, a sacred burn will take place at the north end of Milt Dunnell Field from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
