Kiwanis Club of Stratford donates $20,000 to new mental health initiatives

A $20,000 donation from the Kiwanis Club of Stratford will help with new mental health initiatives for families.

Officials at the Huron-Perth Centre for Children and Youth say the funds will be used to create the Intensive Services Response which provides an opportunity to help the most distressed families and children overcome mental health issues.

The program currently serves around ninety children in the area and it’s based on a “one child, one interaction at a time” focus.

The centre has had a long-term relationship with the local Kiwanis club dating back to 1991.
