Over 98 per cent of Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance staff has had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
That’s according to HPHA officials who say the vast majority of their staff, physicians and midwives are double vaccinated and are in compliance with the alliance’s immunization policy.
The policy requires staff to have had at least their first dose by October 28th with a confirmed second dose appointment scheduled.
Any employees who don’t follow the rules will be placed on unpaid leave until November 12th.
If they still aren’t vaccinated after that they will be assumed to have voluntarily resigned.
HPHA CEO Andrew Williams says he’s optimistic that those who have yet to comply will do so over the coming weeks but he does anticipate that some will opt to leave the organization.
