More correctional officers are on the way to help out at the Stratford Jail.
Ontario government officials say they have hired 107 new staff members who are joining the frontline.
Included among them are 25 officers who will support the western region including at the Stratford Jail.
The new hires took an eight-week training course which included lessons in communication, de-escalation, and inmate management as well as anti-Black racism and Indigenous cultural training.
