New community project raising awareness about carbon monoxide-related deaths

A new community project is aiming to bring the number of fire and carbon monoxide-related deaths down to zero.

Enbridge Gas, the Fire Marshal’s Public Fire Safety Council, and the Stratford Fire Department are working together on Safe Community Project Zero.

It’s a public education campaign that will see the city’s fire department give out 234 combination smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.

Officials say when properly installed and maintained, the alarms help provide the early warning to safely escape from a house fire or carbon monoxide exposure.
