Emily Murphy Centre discusses sexual assault in light of Ghomeshi accusations

The allegations continue to mount against former CBC radio host Jian Ghomeshi.

Reports say at least nine women and one man have accused him of assault and/or sexual abuse.

Lisa Wilde, the executive director of the Emily Murphy Centre here in Stratford, says high profile cases like this can encourage other victims to come forward:

She believes when it comes to sexual assault cases the system isn’t working:

Wilde adds the system needs to change so victims feel more comfortable coming forward:

There are resources available in Stratford for victims of abuse, including the Emily Murphy Centre and Optimism Place.
