The City of Stratford is moving forward with the next phase of its Smart Parking project in the downtown core.
More sensors are currently being embedded in the asphalt at a number of parking spaces, both on-street and in lots.
The sensors transmit signals through a wireless network to indicate whether a vehicle is parked in that spot or not.
City officials say the data that’s collected will help them better understand parking patterns in the core and will also be used when making decisions about the city’s parking strategy.
