Country Club working on ways to fix financial issues

The Stratford Country Club is working on their “severe” financial issues.

The club is facing a significant debt.

It’s enough debt to lead their bank to demand immediate repayment of their mortgage and operating line of credit.

Mark Straus is the president of the Stratford Country Club.

He says they’ll be working with their creditors to come to a solution:

Straus says despite the problems the members are optimistic:

Straus said he couldn’t elaborate on how the club got into this situation:

When asked how much the club owed Straus said he preferred to keep that knowledge within the membership.

In the meantime it’s business as usual at the club, with the facilities available for events as well as squash and curling.
