There are 29 new cases and one new death from COVID-19 in our region after the weekend.
Updated data from Huron Perth Public Health shows the death toll since the pandemic started is now at 70.
HPPH officials say the death was that of a community member and it was connected to a workplace outbreak.
Of the new cases, nineteen are in North Perth, two are in Perth East, two are in Stratford and one is in Perth South.
The rest are in Huron County.
An outbreak continues at the North Perth Spinrite Child and Family Centre in Listowel as well as at Elma Township Public School in Atwood which has been closed until at least next Monday.
Fourteen cases have been identified in students at the school while there’s also another outbreak at an unnamed business.
There are 70 active cases in the area.
