The St.Marys Fire Department is getting a helping hand to secure some much-needed firefighting apparel.
Farm Credit Canada has given the fire department a grant to purchase coveralls for the entire crew.
The FCC gave $1.5 million through its FCC AgriSpirit Fund to 88 community groups across Canada to support rural capital projects with the department one of the recipients.
Officials say the coveralls along with water backpacks are ideal in situations where firefighters need to move about quickly and contain situations where a truck may not always be able to reach.
