UWPH launching new Connection Centre in Stratford

A new centre in Stratford is aiming to provide a safe space for vulnerable people.

The United Way Perth-Huron says the Stratford Connection Centre will be located at the St.Paul’s Anglican Church and it will connect those in need with allies and supports including basic needs like a shower and laundry facilities.

The project in collaboration with the City of Stratford and Choices For Change is part of the fundraising efforts for the UWPH’s annual campaign and they are hoping to raise around $100,000 to support it.

UWPH Executive Director Ryan Erb says the creation of the centre is a true partnership with those looking to support the homeless population.

“Our friends at St.Pauls were having those conversations themselves and so it was a beautiful synergy when we discovered that happened and it came together quite quickly once we realized that.”

Erb adds the centre will be opening in the next few weeks and anyone who wants to donate can contact the UWPH.
