Breaking: Stratford Mayor Dan Mathieson announces he won’t seek re-election

There will be a change at the top in the City of Stratford.

Mayor Dan Mathieson says for the first time in three decades he won’t be seeking re-election in next year’s municipal election.

On Twitter, Mathieson says he’s enjoyed the honour and privilege bestowed upon him by the citizens.

He says he will always be a proud Stratford resident and he looks forward to supporting the city as it embarks on the next chapter in its amazing history.

Mathieson is in his fifth term as Mayor and first joined council in 1995.

The next municipal election is October 24th, 2022.
