St.Marys Town Council has given the greenlight to the draft budget for 2022.
It includes a 1.16 per cent tax levy increase which works out to an additional $50 in taxes for the average property owner.
$29 of that amount will be reflected on residents’ annual property tax bills with the remainder added to residents’ water and wastewater bills.
The budget includes funding for several projects including a tourism signage initiative and the development of a plan to re-envision Milt Dunnell Field.
Staff will now draft a by-law to pass the budget, which council will vote on at their meeting on February 8th.
