Part of Main Street West in Listowel closed after truck hits building

UPDATE: 12:29 P.M. Friday

Police say one person was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries after a vehicle struck a building in downtown Listowel.

First responders were called out around 8 o’clock Friday morning to the collision on Main Street West.

The driver of the commercial vehicle was transported to the hospital with no passengers or pedestrians involved.

Main Street West, between Wallace Avenue and Livingstone Avenue, is expected to be closed for a number of hours.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation.

Police say information will be provided as it becomes available.

Perth County OPP say the collision has closed the road from Livingstone Avenue east to Highway 23.

Police haven’t provided any other details.

Emergency crews are at the scene.
