Kemp, Catherine

Jean Catherine Kemp, passed away suddenly in her home, Anne Hathaway Retirement Residence, Stratford on December 25th, 2013 at 78 years of age. Born in Millbank to the late Robert Gordon and former Laura Beggs. On April 02, 1953, Jean married the love of her life, Gordon Keith (Corky) Kemp (deceased March,2002). Jean and Corky especially enjoyed travelling, fun times with family and friends at their cottage and participating in many Shrine parades. Jean was an active member of Radiant Chapter #134 Order of Eastern Star Omar Temple, # 111 Daughters of the Nile. She was a member of St. John’s United Church, Stratford. Jean spent many wonderful years working at Famme & Co. until her retirement at age 65. Jean was a loving and devoted mother to her son Ronald Gordon Kemp of Mitchell, her daughter Debora Jean Hinz and husband Dennis Gerald Hinz of Kitchener. Her strength and integrity were an inspiration to all, especially her daughter whose life has been truly blessed. Jean will be forever loved and truly missed by her granddaughter, Katrina Jean Hinz (Joseph Cook) of Baden and Tyler Gordon Ezra Hinz of Kitchener. She was a very special Grandma to her great grandson, Keegan Gordon Hinz of Baden. Jean was a beloved sister-in-law to Evelyn Pridham, Mitchell, Phyllis Kemp, Mitchell, Bill Cornish, Mitchell, Fay Sager, Stratford, Betty Cowell, Mitchell, Earl and Vera Kemp, Mitchell, George and Anne Kemp, Yorkton, Sask., Harold and Marg Kemp, Halifax, N.S., Shirley and Laverne Zimmer, Stratford. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families. Besides Jean’s parents, she was predeceased by her husband Gordon Keith Kemp, granddaughter Amber Dawn Hinz, sisters Ruth Schlueter and Doris Griffith, brothers in law Roy Schlueter, Cecil Griffith, Dalton Kemp, Ormond Pridham, Ernie Sager, Carl Vock, Cecil Cowell and sister in law, Margaret Cornish. You will forever be in our hearts and thoughts. The family will receive relatives and friends at the W. G. Young Funeral Home on Monday, Dec., 30th, from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation through the W.G.
