Stratford’s Bruce Hotel certified as a Living Wage Employer

Stratford has another living wage employer.

The United Way Perth-Huron says the Bruce Hotel has been certified in the category.

Based on a 35-hour work week, the living wage is calculated regularly using local data and takes into account the living expenses of a weighted average of family types including a family of four, a single mother supporting a seven-year-old child and a single adult, once government transfers and deductions are factored in.

Expenses including housing, food, utilities, childcare and transportation are factored in.

The living wage is $17.95 an hour in our region.
