The Ontario Provincial Police say the body of a ten-year-old girl has been found in Whirl Creek near Mitchell.
The youngster had reportedly fallen into the creek on the morning of March 6th.
A huge search operation was mounted, involving rescue units from police and fire departments across the region.
In a statement, the OPP says the girl’s body was located just before 3 p.m. Monday.
Police say the entire community has been affected by the tragedy.
