West Perth Council pens open letter to community on search for missing girl

The search for a missing 10-year-old girl near Mitchell has taken a toll on first responders and the community.

In an open letter, West Perth Council says they want to express their deepest sympathy to the family of Taleya Paris and express gratitude to all those who provided support to her family and emergency service crews.

Paris had reportedly fallen into Whirl Creek creek on the morning of March 6th with her body located just before 3 Monday afternoon.

West Perth Mayor Walter McKenzie says residents in the area have been brought together by the tragedy.

“The community is a tight-knit community, they felt the grief and the loss the same as the family did.”

The letter finishes by saying council’s thoughts continue to be with the family of Taleya, she will not be forgotten.
