No Frills in Stratford temporarily closed after late night fire

Damage is pegged at over $1 million after a fire at the No Frills grocery store in Stratford.

Firefighters were called out to the store on Huron Street just after 10 o’clock Tuesday night.

A refrigeration unit on the main floor was found to be on fire.

A sprinkler had gone off helping keep the blaze from spreading and it was brought under control before 11.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation and the store is temporarily closed while the building is checked to see if it’s structurally sound.

Huron Perth Public Health has been brought in to determine the extent of the product lost because of contamination.

No one was hurt in the fire.
