The COVID-19 pandemic is making its presence known at the Stratford Festival.
Preview performances of Chicago at the Festival have been canceled for Friday and Saturday because of cast members testing positive for the virus.
It follows an earlier performance of the show being canceled on Wednesday.
Publicity Director Ann Swerdfager tells MyStratfordNow.com additional understudies were hired this season to keep cancellations to an absolute minimum.
However, she adds with 100,000 new cases of the virus a day in Ontario, they are experiencing an “exceptional and unprecedented surge.”
