COVID-19 related staffing shortage leads to another reduction in hours at St.Marys Memorial Hospital

The hours for the Emergency Department at the St.Marys Memorial Hospital are being cut back again because of a COVID-19 related staffing shortage.
Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance officials say the department will be accepting patients from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. and will be closed overnight from Tuesday to Friday.
Anyone who requires immediate medical attention should call 9-1-1 and paramedics will transport you to the nearest emergency department for care.
The closest emergency departments to St.Marys are in Stratford, London and Ingersoll.
“We regret being in this situation again, however the immediate staffing pressures resulting from our current COVID-19 outbreak make temporarily reducing hours the most responsible and safe decision available to us,” says Andrew Williams, President & CEO. “No one likes a reactionary decision like this, most notably our health care team, but it is the right decision in light of these circumstances.”
