Man charged after smashing through “road closed” signs

A Perth East man has been charged after he crashed through a pair of “road closed” signs.

OPP officers were called to the accident on Perth Road 131 at Line 76 Saturday afternoon.

That area is closed due to construction work at the Smith Creek Bridge.

Police say the 65-year-old driver wasn’t hurt in the collision.

However the passenger, a 65-year-old woman from Perth East, had minor injuries.

The driver has been charged with careless driving.
