Man charged in unprovoked attack on Boxing Day

The Oxford County OPP has solved a strange and scary crime that occurred on Boxing Day.

Police were called to investigate an assault at the Tim Horton’s parking lot on Highway 59 in Norwich shortly after 8:00am on December 26th.

The 63-year-old male victim was exiting the Tim Horton’s drive-thru, when he was pulled out of his vehicle and assaulted by an unknown male.

The victim received serious facial injuries.

The suspect returned to Tim Horton’s a short time later and was arrested by OPP.

The 33-year-old Norwich man has been charged with aggravated assault.

He’ll be in the Woodstock Courthouse for a bail hearing today.
