The new Tom Patterson Theatre is being recognized with a top Canadian honour.
Hariri Pontarini Architects has won the Governor General’s Medal in Architecture, for the design of the new venue that officially opened just last week.
The Governor General’s Medals in Architecture are given every two years to recognize and celebrate excellence in recently built, and designed, projects completed by Canadian architects.
Meanwhile, festival officials say over 4,000 fans, critics and members of the local and creative communities converged on both the Festival and Tom Patterson theatres last week to open the new season.
