You should test your smoke alarms and let your guests know about your home fire escape plan.
You should also keep children and pets away from lit candles and keep matches and lighters locked up in a high cabinet.
Always stay in the kitchen when cooking and never cook while drinking alcohol.
Remember to never drink and drive or let your guests drink and drive.
Have a designated driver or arrange for a cab or some other form of transportation.
