London man charged with racing in Perth South

A 20-year-old London man has been charged after police say he was driving almost 90 kilometres over the speed limit in Perth South.

Shortly before midnight on Monday, Stratford Police say an officer was conducting speed enforcement on Highway 7 at Line 1.

That’s when police say a black Volkswagon Jetta was observed traveling westbound at 169 km/h in a 80 km/h zone.

The vehicle was stopped and the driver was charged with Race a Motor Vehicle.

He’s required to attend court on September 27th.

He’s also had his driver’s license suspended for 30-days and his vehicle impounded for 14-days.
