Numerous bed and breakfast business owners in Stratford are taking issue with a proposed accommodation licensing by-law.
Stratford City Council held a virtual public meeting Monday night where close to a dozen people, including several bed and breakfast owners, asked questions and raised concerns about the proposed by-law that was introduced by city staff earlier this month.
The by-law would lay out the licensing requirements for all short-term rental accommodations in the city and replace an existing by-law already in place for bed and breakfasts.
Some of the concerns raised included the fees owners would have to pay and that stays would be limited to 28 days for all accommodations.
The questions and issues raised during the meeting will now be put into a report to be presented at a future Infrastructure, Transportation and Safety Committee meeting.
One it passes that stage, city council will have a final vote at a regular meeting.
