A small town in southern Ontario is in mourning following the death of a 20-year-old hockey player in Ayr.
The Ayr Centennials of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League revealed Wednesday afternoon that team captain Eli Palfreyman died during a game on Tuesday.
The Centennials were playing the Boston Junior Bruins as part of a pre-season invitational tournament.
Not many details about what happened have been released but the team says Palfreyman had the best of care from their medical staff and a quick response from the ambulatory staff.
They add medical doctors will have more answers for us in the coming days.
