Events being held locally to honour veterans ahead of Remembrance Day

Our veterans are being honoured through a number of events taking place in our region.

The St.Marys Legion and Army and Navy are hosting their Veteran’s Decoration Day at the St.Marys Cemetery on Saturday.

Loved ones of veterans interred at the cemetery can receive complimentary flags to place at the veteran’s graves from 9 a.m. until noon.

On Sunday, the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a parade that will march from the St.Marys Legion to the town hall cenotaph at 12:30 p.m.

A service of remembrance will follow while the actual Remembrance Day ceremony at the town hall cenotaph will start at 10:45 next Friday.

In Stratford, the Remembrance Day ceremony will take place at the Cenotaph next Friday starting at 10:45.
