For the fifth time Legal Aid has refused to foot the bill for Michael Rafferty’s appeal.
That decision means the office of the Attorney General of Ontario will pay the costs.
Last month the Ontario Court of Appeal ruled that there are grounds for Rafferty to appeal his conviction of kidnapping, sexually assaulting and murdering Woodstock’s Tori Stafford.
Rafferty is currently serving a life sentence.
