Perth County residents staring down an almost eight per cent tax increase

Perth County could be looking at a budget increase of 7.65 per cent.

During Thursday morning’s Perth County Council meeting, Finance Manager and Treasurer Corey Bridges went over the 2023 budget.

Bridges says “all efforts” have been made to maintain service levels while staving off inflation.

However, inflation is still the main reason behind the increased costs.

A single-family home, Bridges said, will be looking at their taxes going up by 7.65 per cent or $54.97.

Thirteen capital projects are being eyed which adds up to a total of $15.2 million.

Among them are road work and renovations on the Perth County Courthouse elevator.

Bridges says capital budgets will be presented on January 26th.
