Victim Services moves local head office to Stratford

The Executive Director for Victim Services Bruce Grey Perth says they are working to bring the branch to where it should be for 2023.

Louis Muscat has been in the position for nearly a year and he says when he took over things were disorganized with staff basically running themselves.

He says the branch had been without an Executive Director for three years.

However, Muscat says they are starting to move in the right direction with their head office now set up at 544 Huron Street in Stratford and three full-time staff and himself working out of it.

Muscat says they serve the second biggest territory beyond Toronto.

He adds he’s seeing a huge increase in domestic violence cases being reported to the branch and they need to work with their partners to learn what they can do to help.

The branch provides emotional support, usually on a referral basis, to people experiencing trauma and tragic circumstances.

There is a 24-hour phone line, 1-866-376-9852, set up for anyone who needs help and is going through a crisis.
