Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement for Southern Perth County, Stratford, and Mitchell with strong winds and soaring temperatures expected for Wednesday.
Senior Climatologist Dave Phillips says air coming up from the southern United States could bring the high on Wednesday to 14, making it the hottest February 15th on record.
As a whole, Phillips says the winter has been unseasonably warm and we’ve had eight straight months where temperatures have been normal or above.
Phillips adds, however, that winter isn’t over and it’s far too early to say that we’ve seen the last of chilly temperatures.
