Urgent need for foster parents in Huron-Perth

There’s an urgent need for foster parents in our area.

Huron-Perth Children’s Aid Society Executive Director Kristian Wilson says they are hoping to find homes for youth ages 12 to 18.

He says members of that age group can often end up outside of the community and disconnected from their families, friends, and community support.

Wilson adds they are looking for foster parents who can help youth who have experienced trauma and build relationships with them.

An information night is being held on April 12th at the CAS Stratford location, beginning at 6 p.m., where those interested can learn more about everything involved in opening your home up.

Wilson says the arrangements are usually short-term with the ultimate goal to bring the child and their family back together.

Training and support are offered by the CAS to parents taking part.
