Perth County Festive R.I.D.E. results

The Perth County OPP has wrapped up its Festive R.I.D.E. program.

The police say that during the 40 days of the campaign they conducted 168 spot checks throughout the county.

Nearly 10,000 drivers were spoken to at these checkpoints.

Officers laid five impaired charges and issued two other licence suspensions.

The checks also resulted in 27 other violations, including drug, liquor and Highway Traffic Act charges.

The police say this year’s numbers are pretty much unchanged from last year’s campaign.

The OPP is also reminding drivers that regular R.I.D.E. programs will be held throughout the year.
