Perth County OPP receive new technology for cruisers

Perth County OPP now has new tools to enhance community and officer safety.

Patrol vehicles across the County now have the Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) and In-Car-Camera systems.

Both pieces of equipment will be used to gather evidence to be used in court.  The ALPR will allow officers to detect licence plates that are linked to criminal or traffic offences.   The In-Car-Camera will also offer an objective video recording of any interactions between officers and members of the public.

Both systems are now activated on Perth County OPP patrol cars and have been funded by the provincial government.
