Students in Perth County getting help to launch businesses

Local students are getting the chance to try their hand at entrepreneurship.

A partnership between investStratford, Perth County, and the Perth Community Futures Development Corporation will provide hands-on training, mentorship, and financial grants of up to $3,000 to 10 students.

Known as Summer Company, the partnership is an Ontario government program that will be delivered by the Stratford Perth Centre for Business.

Organizers say the additional funding from Perth County and the Perth CFDC means the Summer Company program will be able to allow the students to turn their business ideas into a reality.

All participants in the program will be provided with $1,500 to help with start-up costs and the remaining $1,500 at the end of the summer, upon the completion of the program.
