New free service launched to help local youth combat substance use or behavioral addictions

There’s a new resource for local youth who are dealing with a substance use or behavioral addiction.

Crossing Bridges was created through a partnership between Canadian Mental Health Association branches Thames Valley Addiction and Mental Health Services and Huron Perth Addiction and Mental Health Services.

It’s a website where youth between 12 and 24 can connect virtually for free with an addictions counselor, get information about substance use and behavioral addictions, and find addiction services and support.

The team of addiction counselors is registered social workers or social service workers with a specialization in working with young people.
