The St.Marys Fire Department is purchasing new equipment thanks to a donation.
With the funds donated by a local couple, the department is buying a fire blanket which officials say provides a fast, effective, and eco-friendly means of isolating and extinguishing car fires.
The remainder of the money will go towards the purchase of an inflatable Fire Safety House
which will be part of the department’s fire education program.
Fire Chief Richard Anderson says donations like the one they received help the department move to that next level of proficiency and efficiency whether on the fire ground or in the classroom.
