City of Stratford looking at potentially lowering speed limit in residential areas

The City of Stratford is weighing its options when it comes to lowering the speed limit in residential areas.

An online survey has been launched looking at reducing the posted speed limit from 50 to 40 kilometers an hour.

There are three ideas being reviewed; implementing a city-wide speed limit reduction in all residential areas, conducting a speed limit reduction pilot program in one neighborhood, or keeping the status quo.

A speed limit reduction would not include provincial highways, the truck by-pass, or arterial roads while areas where the 40km/h speed limit is already in place wouldn’t be impacted.

You can visit the Engage Stratford website to fill out a survey until May 31st.
