Two more area hospitals temporarily reducing hours

The hours are being temporarily cut at two more area hospitals because of staffing shortages.

Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance officials say the emergency department at the Seaforth Community Hospital will close at 5 a.m. on Saturday and reopen, with regular 24-hour service, at 8 a.m. on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the emergency department at the Clinton Public Hospital will be closed on Sunday and will reopen at 8 a.m. on Monday.

The emergency department in Clinton will temporarily extend its hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday to assist with an expected increase in volumes because of events at the Walton Raceway.

Anyone requiring immediate medical attention should call 9-1-1 and paramedics will remain available to the community and will re-route to the nearest available emergency department.

The closest 24-hour Emergency Departments to the Seaforth Community Hospital are:
*Exeter – South Huron Hospital
*Goderich – Alexandra Marine & General Hospital
Stratford – HPHA– Stratford General Hospital

The closest 24-hour Emergency Departments to the Clinton Public Hospital are:
Seaforth – HPHA – Seaforth Community Hospital
*Goderich – Alexandra Marine & General Hospital
Exeter – South Huron Hospital
*Wingham – LWHA – Wingham & District Hospital

*It is advised to check with these Emergency Departments before attending to ensure they are operating with regular hours.
