Breaking: One person killed in collision near Dorking

One person is dead after a collision in Perth East.

Perth County OPP says they were called to the crash on Perth Road 86, near Dorking, around 1 o’clock Tuesday afternoon.

Police say initial reports indicated that a grey sedan and a grey SUV collided.

The 66-year-old driver of the SUV was transported to the hospital with serious injuries and the 67-year-old passenger in the sedan was airlifted to a trauma center with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the sedan, a 65-year-old North Perth resident, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have not released the names of those involved.

An investigation continues and the road in the area remains closed.

The Chief Coroner has been notified.
