Local humane society hosting pop-up adoption event as centres near capacity

The Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo and Stratford Perth says it’s experiencing a high number of pets coming into their centres.

They are hosting a pop-up adoption event Wednesday and Thursday and reducing adoption fees for a number of animals.

The events are running at both their centres from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. and appointments won’t be required with walk-ins being accepted for the event duration.

“We have 200 animals in care between our two centres, and almost 80 pets currently available for adoption,” stated Kathrin Delutis, Chief Executive Officer, HSKWSP. “We are hoping our community will choose to adopt this week and give a pet a loving home.”

Adoption fees for pets including adult dogs and cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs will be lowered.
