One of the newest appointees to the Order of Canada is from Stratford.
Don McDougall, a business leader who helped bring the Toronto Blue Jays into existence, is being recognized with the honor.
A media release from Governor General Mary Simon, says McDougall was appointed because of his “visionary leadership as the founding director of the Toronto Blue Jays club, and for his entrepreneurship and philanthropy.”
McDougall is among a field of 85 appointees and it follows on him being named the Business Leader of the Year for 2023 by the Stratford and District Chamber of Commerce.
