You’ll soon be able to sign up to play tennis this fall under a dome at Stratford’s Upper Queens Park.
Stratford Tennis Club officials say the dome will allow for tennis to be played during the winter.
There will be programming available including recreational men’s and ladies’ nights, a popular social morning group, and a competitive league. There will also be group lessons available that are tailored to individual skill levels and ages.
Stratford Tennis Club President Stephen Fischer says the original plan was to have the courts in place by October of last year but he says a delay with the city’s building department in issuing a building permit meant it took longer than expected.
Stratford is one of four municipalities to receive funding to develop the courts through a partnership that involves Tennis Canada and Rogers.
