A new master plan is laying out what transportation could look like in Stratford over the next twenty years.
The draft transportation master plan was created by engineering consultant Arcadis IBI Group for the City of Stratford and it lays out the long-term strategy for infrastructure, actions and policy recommendations for getting around the city.
It updates reports from 2010 and 2014 and includes fifty-two action items to be taken through 2041.
They include improving the convenience of Stratford’s transit system, creating a Priority Cycling Network with safe and comfortable cycling routes, and optimizing the existing street network to support current and future traffic growth.
If all the recommended actions were taken it would mean an investment upwards of $61 million.
A thirty-day public review period is now taking place where residents can share their thoughts on the plan before it goes back to council for a final decision.
