Breaking: Stratford teen charged with attempted murder

A 16-year-old Stratford male has been charged with attempted murder.

Stratford Police says they received a report shortly after 4 o’clock Monday afternoon about a teenage male being attacked with a hatchet in the Brydges Street and Louise Street area.

Police found the victim with non-life-threatening injuries and say they learned the attack happened at a home on Louise Street.

The victim ran from the area before a stranger called the police, according to investigators, and the suspect and victim were known to each other.

The suspect was arrested at his residence shortly after 4:30 p.m. and is being held in custody with a court appearance on Wednesday.
