A Huron East resident is out over $17,000 in a cryptocurrency scam.
Huron County OPP says they were contacted on September 5th by the victim who said they had lost $17,500 in an internet investment scam the month before.
The person said they had been referred to a cryptocurrency investment website by a friend where they were scammed out of the money.
Police are reminding you to always protect yourself by doing things like not giving out your personal information online and not accepting friend requests from people you do not know.
