Stratford appoints new Director of Emergency Services and Fire Chief

Stratford has a new Director of Emergency Services and Fire Chief.

At their regular meeting Monday night, Stratford City Council voted to appoint Neil Anderson to the position that became vacant when John Paradis resigned in July to take a similar role in London.

Anderson, an Exeter native, first joined the city’s fire department in 2017 after a career in the military that he says took him from coast to coast in Canada.

He says he has a few initiatives in mind in his new role including at the Stratford Municipal Airport.

“Perhaps some drone piloting programs, just to make the place revenue neutral hopefully, as for the fire department we’re due for a new vehicle in 2027 and that’s a big focus.”

Anderson was hired following a recruitment process by the city.
