The unemployment rate in the Stratford region dropped to 4.2 per cent in September.
The biggest job gains in the Stratford-Bruce Peninsula Economic Region were seen in forestry, fishing, and mining, according to the Four County Labour Market Planning Board.
Industries including information, culture, and recreation experienced the biggest job losses.
While 600 full-time employment gains were reported last month, the increase was accompanied with 1,400 part-time employment losses.
That resulted in a net loss of 900 in the region’s overall employment size.
